“Knowledge is Beautiful” Awareness & Fundraiser Event 2024
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the 2nd Annual “Knowledge is Beautiful” Awareness & Fundraiser Event is being held on Wednesday, October 16th in Bend, Oregon to raise awareness about breast cancer and breast implant safety.
The fundraiser is led by women’s health advocate Sherri Gorbett. Sherri sits on the board of directors for Breast Implant Safety Alliance (BISA) Nonprofit and recently became involved with pageants to promote women’s health issues. Sherri Gorbett made pageant history as the first-ever contestant to talk about breast implant safety and awareness. Because of Sherri's work, all of America’s pageantry has heard of our mission. You can read more about her in our Advocate Spotlight on Sherri Gorbett.
Breast Implant Safety Alliance (BISA), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to women’s health and breast implant safety, is thrilled to see Sherri lead this empowering awareness event.
"We are incredibly excited to host this awareness event.” said advocate Sherri Gorbett. “It is especially important to me because I suffered and I still see many women in our community who are unaware of the new safety risks. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this is a great time to hold an event related to breast cancer and women’s health.”
