Dr. Nicolaidis completed his Plastic Surgery residency training at McGill University, following which he did fellowships at both University of Miami and Baylor College of Medicine. His very first position was Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York.

Following the events of 9/11, he chose to return home to Montreal, where he currently works as Assistant, Professor of Surgery at the University of Montreal.

Dr. Nicolaidis opened his private office Contour Clinic in the early 2000s and started explanting in 2018. He stopped implanting in May 2021, when he no longer felt he could tell which patients were more at risk for developing breast implant illness.

“My specialty of Plastic Surgery along with breast implant companies, have failed patients on a colossal scale by not identifying and addressing the various problems caused by breast implants in a more timely manner.”

— Dr. Nicolaidis to the Canadian Parliament, May 4, 2023

“The continued failure of certain American Plastic Surgeons to acknowledge these harms done to patients, and worse yet their conflicted attempts to downplay these harms for personal gain, are frankly an embarrassment to my specialty.”
