We’ve got a problem to solve and we know if we want to get the job done right, we need to find the right people to help champion it. Your help can be life saving for some women. A FEW THINGS THAT KEEP US UP AT NIGHT

Women are still unaware about the signs and symptoms of breast implant cancer and doctors are missing the diagnosis for a potentially curable cancers like BIA-ALCL.
The risk of breast implant cancer BIA-ALCL in patients with textured implants started off as 1 in 30,000 in 2019 but the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recognizes a possible lifetime risk of 1 in 100 for some patients today.
Women are coming to us to find support for a cancer they were not warned about because they are not finding the help they need.
Cancer causing textured implants are still being used.
The public is not aware of the recent and LARGEST breast implant recall due to cancer.

OUR CHALLENGE
Every woman is at risk for breast cancer and you never know when you or someone you love will be faced with decisions about breast implants. We believe women & healthcare professionals deserve the most recent safety info for those that are considering, living with, or treating patients with breast implants. Unfortunately, the awareness is not reaching those that need it despite challenging regulators, manufacturers, plastic surgeries society leaders to make this right. The people that should be solving these problems are not doing enough and women continue to be harmed and families are impacted.

WHY US?
BISA was founded by women that suffered health complications from breast implants that we were not warned about, including cancer. We just wanted to be sure others had better information and support than we had. Since 2019, we have been tirelessly volunteering thousands of hours. We do not accept money from implant manufacturers and our advocates are all volunteers. We never thought we would need to continue this work but we nee help achieving our goal of keeping women safe, healthy and informed. Read more who we are and our mission on our website.
