MONDAY, JUNE 10
*Optional* Pre-Conference Session
11:00am – 3:00pm Speak Truth to Power: Advocating to Achieve Health Equity
Where you live should not determine whether you live. Today in the United States, this unfortunately is not the reality and nowhere is this fact more glaring than in Black communities, where women are more than 40 percent more likely to die of breast cancer than their white counterparts. The Speak Truth to Power: Advocating to Achieve Health Equity session provides an opportunity to engage a cohort of leaders from Black communities across the country in Komen’s advocacy efforts, with a goal toward identifying and discussing federal policies that address health equity.
*Limited space available - priority will be given to leaders and advocates in the Black Community.
